Another most beautiful week here, full of swimming, nature watching, walking and just appreciating this amazing place. Hopefully we will return next year. M.C 30.07.22

Wow, what an incredible week we have had. Ceannabeinne has 100% captured our hearts. We came here after reading about the Ceannabeinne clearances in Barbara Henderson’s book ‘Fir For Luck’. We have been in the sea every day and explored along the coast. The cottage is simply fabulous – so many generous wee thoughtful additions – the best hospitality we have ever had whilst self catering. Thank you. Thank you! Looking forward to returning in 2023! D.M 23.07.22

A quiet week spent walking on the beached enjoying the beautiful views. Cottage was lovely – thank you ! S & J. 16.02.22

Another wonderful week in this lovely cottage. Thanks Richard and Tara. We had some lovely walks, and saw a Golden Eagle near Loch Hope, and a Sea Eagle while walking at Reiff. P&B, 09.07.22

The cottage is brilliant -very comfortable and in the prime location to get out and see what this part of the world has to offer. We had a wonderful week exploring the coast here and climbing u Ben Hope. having a warm cottage to come back to was a useful tool in inspiring us to get out and into the sea. (the dog especially loved the AGA!). Overall, we had an incredible week and a wonderful place to stay. Great place to re-charge, re-connect and let go of routines. Loved getting up and just planning the day!. Thank you for a very special place. R & H. C. 02.07.22

Lovely house, wonderful area, beautiful walks, lots of seabirds, also Puffins and diving Gannets. F. A 18.06.22

Beautiful scenery, warm weather and we managed to find peace and seclusion.  And a first for us, sea swimming at the secret beach under glorious blue skies in crystal clear aquamarine water, with the beach all to ourselves on a Bank holiday! R.P. 04.06.22

Our 27th visit to the cottage! Visited Ceannabeinne Beach, the Secret Beach, Sango Beg and Balnakeil, as well as walking to Farraid Head and the Balnakeil peninsular. C.L. 28.05.22

Our third stay and what fabulous improvements you have made to what was always a welcoming cottage. We had a 60th birthday here and couldn’t have chosen a better location.  Thank you Richard and  Tara, and Hazel for the help she gave us with our flat tyre. We hope to visit again in the none too distant future. S. P. 02.04.22

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. So welcoming and well equipped. Thank you for the welcome gifts and the beautiful eggs. We would love to come back! S. M. 23.02.22

It was quite simply a wonderful Christmas time! The cottage was festive and well presented. Weather better than expected. Even took a dip on New Years Day! Really felt like home from home, and we didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much! T. B. 04.01.22

A beautiful cottage that you fall in love with immediately. Can’t thank you enough for a fantastic time. Everything you need is supplied in abundance, and the three wee Christmas trees were a lovely seasonal touch! We certainly hope to return very soon for what has been a special, memorable experience. Thank you Richard and Tara for another perfect week! S.R. 28.08.21

We have enjoyed other Norsehaven retreats in the past, but this was a first visit to Ceannabeinne and we all loved it! The new wood stove kept us warm – lovely.  We got into the water at the beach and enjoyed exploring the rocks. The Ceannabeinne trail was interesting too. We hope to be back again soon. J.F. 14.08.21

Another wonderful stay in this perfect cottage in its spectacular location. After the restrictions of the last 18 months, the wild expansiveness of the Highlands was the perfect tonic. We love it. We will be back soon. G & A, 30.07.21

First stay in this lovely, well equipped cottage. Views are outstanding. First class cottage. We have been abroad many times but the highland beaches are out of this world. We will miss the view every morning! Thanks for letting us stay and see you again soon. K & M, 24.07.21

Well its been fabulous! The view and having such a beautiful beach below was tremendous. We have swam everyday. This is a fantastic place to stay – very special indeed. We hardly needed the car as it is so beautiful here and we haven’t gone much further than the beach. The house is perfect. We hope to make it here again for a holiday soon. L & M. 17.07.21

This is a very special place! We have enjoyed our two week stay, and the weather has been spectacular, and the house is lovely as always. The new log burner is great! Dafne our labrador says that the sea has been the warmest she has swum in and LOVES IT !B & P 10.07.21

Glorious week for our second visit. Lots of lovely walks and drives. Cottage super cosy – we really appreciate the upgrades – especially the new log burner ! G & N, 26.06.21

Lovely to be here in summer for a change. First visit here with our dog, who appreciated the scents and sights of deer, ptarmigan, stoat and of course, sheep. We had great weather, lots of sunshine and lovely to hear the summer birds, and sit outside enjoying the spectacular view. V & S, 19.06.21

This has been our 13th visit – we first came in August 1995. Its five years since our last visit with our lovely sadly departed dog. He loved to stand with his paws on the half door gazing out. He thought this to be the best place in the world! We ourselves have had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places across the world, but this is the place that we have always returned to ! J & P, 10.06.21

What a wonderful time of year to be here – cuckoos awaking us at 4am and even caught them on camera! Sand Martins at Faraid Head were magical but no sightings of Puffins. Flora was incredible with Mountain Avars on the Kyle walk, Orchids on the hillside above the cottage and an otter crossed the road in front of us on the way to Durness. Looking forward to our return next Spring. F C & T W, 29.05.21

Wonderful, unexpected extra week at the cottage, and our 25th visit! Found a new walk South of Laxford Bridge. Enjoyed Smoo Cave Hotel and Cocoa Mountain. Back again at the end of August. Many thanks for the eggs, wine and other goodies when we arrived. C & J L, 15.05.21.

Our first but hopefully not our last visit to Ceannabeinne. After lockdown, it was such a delight to get away at all, but we did not know what to expect here. In the event, its been a delightful experience all round. The cottage is very user friendly, the scenery and views are stunning, and we had cold, breezy but mostly sunny weather to enjoy walking, cycling and photography. The view from the kitchen window is just wonderful and we felt at home. Enough said! A& G M 08.05.21

A wonderful week away enjoying the far north. So grateful to have this cottage whilst the rest of the country locks down. That beach – that view – Perfect. A.B 31.10.20

Our 12th visit. Weather better than forecasted although we had some gales and heavy winds. C & T . 24.10.20

Another fantastic week here, loads of lovely walks with the dogs on the beaches, especially Balnakeil. This is our 4th or 5th visit. Cannot beat this beautiful cottage and amazing views. Until next time! M. A. 17.10.20

Our 4th visit and the best ever. Since our last visit we have travelled the world, but nowhere beats Ceannabeinne. Surrounded by beauty and peace in a crazy world. Roll on next years’ visit. S.R. 02.10.20

Two weeks of bliss. Very good weather, great walks, lovely food. Magical story skies and a glimpse of the Aurora. A perfect antidote to to a crazy world. So good to be back. S.R 25.09.20

Our 24th visit the cottage, and our 34th to Durness! A good, if not windy and rain tossed week with plenty of rainbows. C.L 12.09.20

Thank you for the wonderful relaxing time, despite Covid-19. We were able to enjoy most of the recommended walks, found the secret beach, went fishing and read and ate and watched several of your DVDs. We love your cottage and hope to return. G Family. 22.08.20

The combination of a great cottage and a magnificent view has given us all a great holiday. Thanks . B&N B 08.08.20

Thank for a lovely stay and the view! The beaches and hills are as beautiful as ever and the camper vans are returning with enthusiasm! Yours is one of the best positioned benches in the world! C&A 13.07.20

Lovely to be back again, peaceful here while the world seems to be going a bit crazy. Walking in the wind is most therapeutic. J&T 14.03.20

Cosy and warm. Fantastic constantly changing views from every window and 4 seasons in 10 minutes. Hail, sleet, rain, BIG winds. Plenty of bird life in the marches at Balnakeil – only problem was Cocoa Mountain was closed for the winter! No hot choc to keep us going!! F & T 07.03.20

New this year, the Moon path, a blizzard on Ben Stsack and two sea eagles at the Kyle of Durness. Also a wild goose chase for Barnacle geese with only a brief sighting! V&S 22.02.20

Wonderful as always. B Family 15.02.20

Lovely peaceful stay. Enjoyed watching all the different weather fronts materialise through the kitchen window, sitting at the table. Lots of walks and sitting by the stove. Thanks. A.G 06.02.20

Wonderful warm homely cottage and a brilliant week, thank you. R & D 25.01.20

Here again. Another relaxing week. Very windy and lot of the time but a great place to chill. Loads of beach walks and a day out to Lochiver – the pie shop is definitely worth a visit. 18.01.20

Lovely peaceful Christmas stay. Lots of coastal walks and wildlife. Harbour grey seals, cormorants, curlews, and fulmars in the Kyle. Mostly dry and bright, we couldn’t ask for anything more! Oh and the refurbishments are very good and much appreciated! R& J 21.12.19

“Home now, but we still feel the benefits of Ceannabeinne. Those waves have lovely sounds, and get into your subconscious. That is where our inner compass settles when we think of a holiday now!” G.L. 28.10.15

“What an amazing time we had at Ceannabeinne Cottage. I loved every second. Not only because the cottage was so comfortable, the chairs, the beds, simply everything, but what made it extra special was witnessing the aurora on three nights. Seriously, where credit is due, if all of your holiday cottages are of the same standard, which I am pretty sure they are, then hats off to you! We go to Scotland three times a year, and love trying different cottages. However, I feel we will be back to try Corrachbeag Cottage next year” E.N. 23.08.15
