1. Period of Let
The cottages are let for holiday purposes, on a weekly basis between arrival Saturday at 3.30 pm and departure the following Saturday before 10.00 am. The number of persons occupying the cottage must not exceed the number for which the cottage has been let.
2. Booking and Payment
If booking by post, the Booking Form must be accompanied by your Initial Payment for each week booked. The Initial Payment required for each week is shown beneath the Holiday Rental price. Please note that this Initial Payment is non-returnable if you cancel your holiday. If booking on line, the Initial Payment will be the amount you pay on booking with your credit card, unless within the 56 day full payment period, when full payment is required. All payments are fully secure. Following confirmation by Norsehaven of your booking, you become liable for the full balance of the Holiday Rental, and the Fuel/Damages deposit, not later than 56 days prior to your holiday, failing which, we reserve the right to retain the Initial Payment and to invoice you for the Holiday Rental balance if we are unable to re-let the cottage. Holiday Rental sums paid are non-returnable in the event of you being unable for whatever reason to take your holiday.
3. Fuel/Damages Deposit
On payment of the Holiday Rental balance, you must include a Fuel/Damages deposit of £100 for each week booked. This sum will be returned at the end of your holiday, less the following deductions: a) The cost of electricity used as recorded by the Hydro Board meters at Cranstackie, Craigmor, and Corrachbeag, and oil used at Ceannabeinne. b) Any expenses incurred by your failure to leave the Cottage in a clean and reasonable condition. c) The cost of replacing any items broken or damaged during your holiday. Please note that any damages in excess of your £100 deposit will be invoiced to you at cost.
4. Cleaning and Linen
The cottage will have been cleaned and checked prior to your arrival but it is your responsibility to leave the cottage in a clean and undamaged condition on your departure. We expect guests with pets to take particular care in this respect. Please notify us immediately of any items damaged or found to be faulty during your stay so as to enable us to rectify any problems prior to the arrival of our next holidaymaker. We provide all bedding, duvets etc. with freshly washed covers, pillow cases and bottom sheets. We also provide bath and hand towels.
We strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover the loss or damage to personal effects and the cost of cancellation due to illness, etc. Our cottages are fully insured but we can in no circumstances be held liable for any loss or damage to holidaymaker’s property, or any injury caused through the holidaymaker’s personal negligence.
6. Exceptional Weather Conditions
During, or as a result of exceptional weather or similar conditions, we cannot be held responsible for the failure of essential services such as heating, electricity and water supply. However, in such circumstances, we will do everything possible to minimise any inconvenience caused.
7. Right of Entry
We reserve the right of entry to the cottage for ourselves or our agents at any time.
We accept pets on the basis of a £30 per pet surcharge, returnable if the cottage is left in a clean, hair free and acceptable condition. The returnable surcharge will be added to your fuel/damages deposit on final payment.
