Spring 2017

The sun is shining once more and the cottages are already filling up for 2017.

The NC500 is bringing a great deal of interest and visitors to Durness, and we look forward to a few new guests staying this year, due to the publicity this new driving route has brought.

We still have a few weeks available, most months from April through to August, although Ceannabeinne is almost full for the year.

If you have a large group of people (8 or more) and are driving the NC500, please contact us for the possibility of a group stay at Craigmor and Cranstackie cottages in Durness village. It’s directly on the NC500 route and has parking for 6 cars available. If you are looking for a stay of two or more nights, we may be able to help you. Please email richard.norman@norsehaven.com or call Richard on 07775505272

Autumn Newsletter

With the Summer drawing to a close, we would like to say a big thank you to all those who have stayed with us throughout this year.

2017 is a special year for us, as it will mark the 30th anniversary of Norsehaven.

During all those years we have welcomed many guests and have made lasting friendships, which are so important to us. Some guests have been so faithful as to visit us every year, and they will know who they are!

We are also blessed with three wonderful housekeepers, without whom we could not run the business.

We look forward to welcoming you all again, and at this time of the year may I remind you of our special seasonal offers.

Winter Discount
For those who may be looking to go away in the winter months, please remember that we offer a very special price, between 05 November and 25 March, of just £ 295 (subject to having paid for a full price holiday in 2016, and not including the Christmas and the New Year weeks).

Christmas and New Year
In addition, for those who paid for a full priced week in 2016, we are offering the Christmas and New Year weeks at a 25% discount.

Festive Special (9 nights for the price of 7)
We have just introduced a special offer for those wanting a Christmas and New Year break, but with the benefit of getting the children back home in time for their new term, or or for adults to get back to their jobs.

Stay from Saturday 24 December through to Monday 02 January for just the price of the Christmas week. (Note: based on the full Christmas prices, not the 25% discount offered above for each separate week)

If you wish to take up any of the above special offers, please contact us before trying to book.

We very much look forward to the next year, and for those that have already booked for 2017, a special thank you!

Best wishes
Richard

Weekend and Midweek breaks.

We are now pleased to offer low season short breaks at Craigmor, Cranstackie cottages in Durness and Corrachbeag in Kinlochbervie.

The available short breaks are as follows –

Weekend 3 nights from Friday to Monday.
Midweek 4 nights from Monday to Thursday.

This availability will be on offer throughout the low season, generally between October and March, but check our booking calendar for exact dates.

All linen and towels are included in the booking price with electricity being billed after your stay, and deducted from your £150 fuel/damages deposit.

If you have any queries regarding short breaks, please contact us.

August Newsletter 2015

Welcome to the August Newsletter.

For those of our guests staying with us in Durness, we are pleased to let you know that the village stores are now open on a Sunday, from 10am to 2pm. Sunday newspapers will be available as well.

In addition, vehicle fuel is now available 24 hours a day at Mackays, thanks to the installation of a credit card payment machine.

For our Kinlochbervie guests, the Old School House restaurant continues to receive great reviews, and is a welcome addition, to the village. It is fully open to non- residents all day and booking is advisable.

For those of you looking for a break later in the year, don’t forget our ‘Low Season Discounts’ from 1st November and we have a couple of weeks available in Craigmor or Cranstackie in September.

With very best wishes

July Newsletter 2015

Welcome to our Summer Newsletter.

We hope you are all enjoying the wonderful weather across the whole country at the moment. I understand we’ve had record temperatures at John O’Groats and in Orkney!

A few snippets of latest news:

For your convenience, we are now providing bath and hand towels in the all the cottages.

We are almost full over the summer, but if you want a last minute break, we do have a week available in Corrachbeag on the 15th August.

We are getting very good reports about the refurbished Kylesku Hotel. With a much larger restaurant facing the loch, great new decor, and a fresh menu, it is well worth the journey for lunch or dinner.

The Old School House Restaurant in Kinlochbervie is now under the ownership of a local couple, and is open for teas and coffee throughout the day, and again we are getting great reports about the friendly welcome and excellent food.

Finally, those of you with Facebook may like to follow us as we like to highlight events and things of interest in the local area.

With very best wishes

Richard

Spring Newsletter – 2015

New Website
Some of you may have noticed our new website. After many years of faithful service, our old website needed a revamp. The main reason for doing so is to better enable bookings via mobile phones and Ipads, as so many people now book this way. We hope you like the new style.

The new website now has a Blog page on which we will be making regular posts about news, local features and any special offers.

Good House Keeping Deposits
We have kept our existing fuel/damage deposit at the same levels for nearly 20 years. During this time, costs have risen as have instances of damage to fixtures and fittings. To reflect this, our new fuel/damage deposit will be £150 per week. (Please note any existing bookings will still be at the old rate). Our existing £30 per week pet surcharge will remain unchanged.

We hope that those of you with a holiday booked with us are looking forward to a well earned break! We still have some Summer weeks available in all cottages for those not yet booked.

Very best wishes

Richard

A brand new website

We’re very pleased to be able to finally have up our brand new website which we hope all our regular users and holidaymakers will find useful and just as quick to book on as our old one.

It’s mobile and iPad friendly, should be easier to navigate and we’ve updated a few links and details too.

We look forward to welcoming you to the cottages for the summer season and if you want to be kept updated with info please check back regularly!
